What is UPISalamat?
T
The theme “UPISalamat” was conceptualized in late 2023 after alumni from UPIS Batch 1999 met in a series of face-to-face meetings inside the UPIS grounds. The goal was to develop a theme embodying the main goal of hosting a General Alumni Homecoming. Aside from gathering former students and teachers, it was agreed upon that this year’s celebration should be about giving back to the institution that helped shape us during our formative years and molded us into the persons we are today.
This year’s celebration will revolve around three important activities: Ang BuHIGH UPIS Legacy Project, the Parangal sa mga Guro at Kawani, and the General Alumni Homecoming. Magkakaiba man ng presentasyon, nagkakaisa naman sa layunin: ang masuklian ang UPIS at pagbukludin ang mga Alamat ng UPIS Nating Mahal.

About UPISalamat Logo
Our logo is a visual interpretation of our theme – UPISalamat. It is a graphic representation of the combination of two Filipino words- “Salamat” and “Alamat.”
The word “salamat,” in an expressly handwritten style, conveys the genuineness of our gratitude to our beloved alma mater. UPIS has always played an integral role of molding young “Iskolar ng Bayan” into the people we gratefully have become – people of principle, integrity, and honor. Much like the word, “alamat,” we are all stories- a rich collection of individual tales of origins, overcoming challenges, and celebrations of triumphs culminating in one great legend that should be told far and wide, passing on to the generations that follow us. The maroon and green hues accented by flowing lines are reminiscent of the Sablay- a known UP symbol that shows nationalism, and honors indigenous culture with pride. The Sablay sash ties “Salamat” and “Alamat” together. As we give back to our school, we also recall our stories that help us resolve into the Filipinos of whom we can all be proud.
