Ang alamat ng Thaddeus

Nestled within the vibrant campus of the University of the Philippines Integrated School, there once existed a humble covered shed named Thaddeus. While it may seem like just another structure on campus, for a group of students, Thaddeus has become so much more—it has become a sanctuary of friendship, memories, and unforgettable experiences that have undoubtedly shaped their lives.

A Chance Encounter

It all began quite innocently: students seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of student life, as they took their in-between breaks before classes. As they stumbled into the Thaddeus, they found not just shelter but also a sense of community. This chance meeting was the catalyst for friendships that would transcend the open walls of the shed.

Little did they know, the laughter echoing off Thaddeus’s walls would one day become the foundation of their most powerful and enduring bonds. It was here that they discovered shared love interests, boy bands such as Eheads and Backstreet Boys, stories about Sailormoon and Anime, and found comfort in each other’s presence. What started as casual conversations quickly blossomed into deep connections, laying the groundwork for what they would one day proudly call their circle: the Thaddeans.

Stories Through the Years

If Thaddeus could talk, it would share tales of whispers and giggles and craziness — memories filled the air with excitement and struggles of being a high school student. From exchanging notes in a flurry of youthful studying, to sharing secrets under cover of this shed, the memories are countless.

Thaddeus witnessed cramming sessions, where stress transformed into laughter, and group studies turned into culinary experiments when someone brought snacks such as chickadee and pritos rings from Aling Norma. It served as both a quiet space for concentration and a lively hub for impromptu games. The companionship formed in this mix of studying and unwinding became essential pillars of support through the ups and downs of school life.

Creativity and Collaboration

The shed’s walls have also seen creativity flourish, as Thaddeans came together to share their artwork, brainstorm ideas for projects, and collaborate on various schoolwork. The shared space encouraged artistic expression, and whether it was doodles made during dull lectures or more serious artistic endeavors, Thaddeus became a canvas of personal expression.

The Thaddeans embraced each other’s talents, pushing each other to grow, evolve, and pursue their passion—sometimes through art, other times through academics or athletics. Most Thaddeans became leaders for CAT, and It became a space not just for friendship, but for growth and inspiration.

Lasting Bonds

As the years go by, the Thaddeans have grown together, yet their roots remain tied to that covered shed. They have navigated life’s challenges—celebrating achievements, comforting each other in moments of despair, and making countless memories along the way.

Today, even as some move on to new endeavors, the spirit of Thaddeus continues to linger. Regular reunions, catch-up sessions, and spontaneous gatherings ensure that the friendships forged in this space remain strong. The Thaddeans carry the memories of laughter, support, and creativity into their daily lives.

Thaddeus is more than just a covered shed—it is a testament to the power of friendship. It embodies the reality that shaped a group of students into a family.
